Race To The Pole - On an iceberg in the Arctic Circle

THE STORY

Robert E. Peary and Dr. Cook both experienced explorers embark on separate journeys to reach the North Pole. Dr. Cook's attempt at being the first to reach the pole is riddled with complications and controversy. Mostly instigated by a glory seeking Peary who will stop at nothing to win or steal the coveted claim from his old friend.

THE CHARACTER

Pritchard is a shy young man on his first major voyage. He is sensitive and honest. A straight shooter strong moral values. He is Admiral Peary's cabin boy. Peary leaves him at the outpost to guard the supplies while he treks to the pole. During Peary's absence Dr. Cook returns from the Pole and swears Pritchard and a rich merchant Mr. Whitney to secrecy. Pritchard is made to revel this as Peary is being confronted by the press. He simply tries to do the right thing but in Peary's world the right thing has nothing to do with the truth.

" 1984 had been a very busy year for me. The Tin Flute which was my first major film, just being released, I was shooting a mini series during the day and at night I was starring in a successful play. Someone from the production of Race to the Pole had come to see the show. And soon after I was offered the role of Pritchard.
But there was a problem..."
